Artist Corner: Kate Walters

peculiar forces ordinary actions

Kate Walters (she/her) lives in Kingston and is co-director of the Peace Education Center of the Hudson Valley here in Rosendale. Kate has been a printmaker and textile artist for many years, both for work and for play. For Kate, the practice of making art is a practice of making meaning of the world and of the human experience, as well as a practice of finding abundant beauty. Currently, she works mostly on custom commissions and small-batch linoleum and silkscreen prints. You can also find some of her prints for sale (including the “Ordinary Actions” print pictured here!) at the Peace Education Center on 430 Main Street, Rosendale. Reach out at katemaurinew@gmail.com or follow her on Instagram @kmwalt.

Rosendale has long been home and haven for many talented artists. To have your art featured, or to suggest an artist, contact us by email, on instagram, or text Ruthie at (845) 443-5048.
